On Thursday, May 9, 2024, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 pm, the Planning Commission will hold a special meeting on Port Townsend’s Comprehensive Plan. The public meeting will take place at the Marvin G. Shields Memorial Post American Legion Hall on 209 Monroe St, and at the Cotton Building on 607 Water Street, both in Port Townsend, WA. There will be guided walking tours between the two locations.

The public, Port Townsend City Council, and all Advisory Boards are invited to a public workshop about the City’s comprehensive plan to envision the next twenty years of Port Townsend’s development. Participants, including Council and advisory board members, will discuss current challenges and opportunities related to economic development, housing, transportation, and community identity.

No action will be taken at this meeting. There will be further opportunities for public participation in the comprehensive planning process.

This is a City of Port Townsend hosted meeting. 

A quorum of the City Council, the Parks, Recreation, Trees, and Trails Advisory Board, the Historic Preservation Committee, the Equity, Access, and Rights Advisory Board, the Library Advisory Board, the Arts Commission, the Lodging Tax Advisory Committee, and Civil Service Commission may be present.
